YTG and tarinainanika present NEW THEATRE, a double bill worth seeing!
In a fugal sequence of iterations and variations, “me” chases through Tokyo on the trail of a shadowy figure called “you”. This piece brings together the physical poetry of corporeal mime, a collage of nonsensical text, the Tokyo train system, and fragments of a Bach fugue in an attempt to convey the beautiful confusion of life in the city.
Directed by tarinainanika with support from Junichi Matsumoto. Featuring Kentaro Suyama, Tania Coke and Toshihiko Nishimura.
Tania and Ken were last seen on the YTG stage in 2016's production of Touch Me Not, which Tania also directed. Tania also directed 2014's a people apart (b).
A brand new solo show featuring Sasha Aronson, directed by Andrew Woolner.
Taking its initial inspiration from the historical figure and Shakespeare character Margaret of Anjou, Sasha and Andrew are creating an original theatre piece about love and regrets.
This is Sasha's second YTG show. She previously appeared in this past September's production of The Outliers.
Andrew is wrapping up his 10th year as the Artistic Director of YTG.
